When is the best time to visit Oman? +
October through April are ideal — warm, dry, crisp mornings in the mountains. May and September are still comfortable for early-morning travel. Summer (June – August) is hot on the coast but can be a wonderful time to visit Salalah, which enters the Khareef monsoon.
What should I wear? +
Dress modestly — covered shoulders and knees in towns, forts and villages. Loose, light cotton in summer. A light layer for mountain evenings. Swimwear is only for hotel pools and private beaches.
Are the mountain trips suitable for all ages? +
Yes. The drives are on excellent sealed roads and 4WD passes; nothing requires fitness to enjoy. For guests who wish to walk, we offer gentle and longer options. Please mention any mobility considerations — we plan around them gladly.
Is Voiara family-friendly? +
Very much so. We provide child seats on request, spacious SUVs, and easy-paced days. Our guides are gentle storytellers; children often remember the fort visits long after the adults.
How does airport pick-up work? +
Your chauffeur will be inside the arrivals hall holding a name card. We track your flight — if it's delayed, the driver waits. If it's early, the driver is already there. There is no charge for reasonable flight delays.
What's the difference between private and group tours? +
All Voiara tours are private — your vehicle, your driver-guide, your pace, and no strangers. We do not operate shared group departures.
Do you offer hotel pickup and drop-off? +
Always — included in every experience and transfer.
How physically demanding are the tours? +
Most tours are comfortable for all fitness levels — viewpoints and village walks are easy. Optional activities (Balcony Walk, canyon hikes, caving) are available for those who'd like them. Please tell us your preference and we'll shape the day.
What payment methods do you accept? +
Bank transfer, major credit/debit cards (via secure payment link), and cash in OMR, USD, EUR or GBP on arrival. A deposit typically secures your dates; the balance settles on arrival.
What is your cancellation policy? +
Free cancellation up to 14 days before the journey for most experiences. Longer, multi-day custom journeys with lodge bookings may have specific policies, which are always shared transparently in writing before any deposit is taken.
Can you plan a fully custom itinerary? +
Yes — this is in fact most of what we do. Visit our Custom Journeys page, or simply write to us with your dates and interests.
What languages do you support? +
English and Arabic fluently, across the team. Guides in French, German, Italian and Russian are available on advance request.
Are the tours good for photography? +
Exceptionally. Several of our guides are themselves photographers; we plan around golden-hour light, and we're happy to stop for a shot your driver notices as well.
Is Oman safe for foreign travellers? +
Oman is widely regarded as one of the safest countries in the region — low crime, friendly hospitality, excellent infrastructure. Women travel here comfortably, often solo.
